Baby #5 on the way!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting a new addition to the family around January 1!  I started showing much sooner this time around and Christian kept telling me that I must be having twins.  I did have an early ultrasound that confirmed just one baby, and it sure was amazing to see this little miracle moving around!  Tiny hands and feet, little arms and legs, and the sweet sound of a heartbeat.  I've been feeling pretty good overall, just tired as I try to keep up with four busy kids this summer.
We took a trip out to Utah when school got out and the kids had fun at Grandma's house.  I was able to complete my marathon 10 weeks into my pregnancy and I loved running it with my sister.  I felt great the first half of the race and was keeping up a good pace and then I slowed it down a little for the second half of the race.  I stopped briefly at each water station to stay hydrated but ran the whole race with Staci (who did amazing for her first marathon!).  She really kept me going, especially those last excruciating four miles.  We crossed the finish line together and it was such an awesome experience!
Dylan has been working hard this summer, playing basketball in a competitive league and doing awesome in his tournaments.  He's out shooting hoops every day and is getting better and better.  He's also working on scouting and practicing piano this summer.  He's such a good kid, a sweet big brother, and a big help to mom and dad.  I can see a future missionary as he reads his scriptures each day in a way that I never did until I was in seminary.  He's amazing.
Christian is our contagiously happy kid who loves to make everyone laugh.  He loves riding his bike and even came up with his own exercise routine, running laps around the neighborhood.  He loves to swim and shoot hoops with his brother.  He's also practicing piano this summer.  He's an easy-going kid and sure loves to have his friends over to play.  Never a dull moment with Christian!
Shaylynn just celebrated her 4th birthday and told me every day during the week following her birthday that she wanted it to still be her birthday and that she wanted more presents, ha!  She is definitely the princess at our house!  She broke her leg on the trampoline in May and was in a cast for two weeks, but her leg is healing well and she's doing great now.  She wants to be outside all the time and loves to play with her friend Grace next door.  She is our sassy little sweetie.
Camden is just happy to tag along with his big brothers and sister.  He couldn't be happier than when he's outside riding a bike with a popsicle in hand.  He's such a cutie!  With his growing vocabulary and sweet little personality, he sure gets a lot of attention.  Soon to be a big brother, it's hard to picture him not being the baby of the family anymore.  My favorite thing is to hear him sing 'I Am a Child of God'.
Russell continues to work hard to support our growing family.  We sure love and appreciate him!  He's beginning his training for a long bike race at the end of the summer.  We're looking forward to my sister Kelli's wedding in San Diego and some time on the beach while the kids hang out with their grandparents.  Then back to Utah for the wedding reception and to see lots of family we haven't seen in a while.  A busy but fun summer!
I just wanted to share a quick quote from President Uchtdorf's October conference talk that I taught in Relief Society.  "...no matter what our circumstances, no matter what our challenges or trials, there is something in each day to embrace and cherish.  There is something in each day that can bring gratitude and joy if we will only see and appreciate it."
